My latest painting, Absolute: Frequency combines layer upon layer of opposing forces into one conversation. It depicts the oscillations in our lives: fortunate blessings and frustrating blights, life and death, ups ands downs, and seasonal changes. I’m exploring the relationships between how we feel change measured from the position of maximum equilibrium. Each element of this work slides between an amplitude of opposites.

This is a special piece that is packed full of meaning and opportunity. Next year, it will find its way to another country as part of an international exhibition! Read on below for a visual breakdown, process video, image gallery, and what travel adventures are in store.

Eliminating Excuses From Your Studio Workflow

Building the truss

So you’ve binge-watched another series from start to finish instead of applying to that exhibition call. You played “just one more level” on your favorite video game until there’s no more to play. You’ve told yourself that “Once the kid’s soccer season is over, I’ll really set aside some time for my art.” Once you finally sit down to work, you don’t know what to make. Maybe hitting up Pinterest one more time might help. After going down that rabbit hole, you look at your clock and it’s too late. You’re tired… tomorrow you’ll do it. You mean it this time.

Are you this person? If you’re having a hard time finding your way into the studio, this article is for you. In it, I’ll map out a few helpful tips to help you eliminate the excuses from your studio workflow. Read on for more.

I’m super excited to announce that Issue 6 of ARTIST TALK MAGAZINE has been published and I am a featured artist with a 6-page spread! ARTIST TALK MAGAZINE is a quarterly magazine, originating from the United Kingdom and features Artists from all across the globe. It is a magazine for everyone and is written by Artists. The main focus of the magazine is to showcase Artists and to give them a chance to share, in more depth, the work they produce. It aims to showcase a wide range of work, inspired by many different influences.

So far, I’ve been really impressed with how slick the online version of the magazine is. You can view it online and purchase a physical copy of any issue here. I’ve already purchased a couple copies for myself and eagerly await their arrival.

Special thanks to Grant Milne who created such an amazing platform for artists!
